6/15 Personal Worksheet on ‘Disclosing my Feelings’ for Total Wholeness

Listed below are feelings (emotions) that most people have in different situations.  The purpose of this exercise is to help you identify your feelings and become more aware about how you do, or do not share them.  It will help to print off this sheet to analyse each emotion.

For each feeling you are away of, place a red X.  Put a Blue X to represent how often you disclose the feeling to your partner/friend or anyone.

Notice the variation between awareness and disclosure.  For example, I may frequently be aware of feeling confident but rarely express this to my partner:

6/13 Dealing with Wounded, Crippled emotions for Total Wholeness

Another picture we could use to describe the relationship between your Heart and your Emotions is the example of a ‘Computer Disc’.  The Heart records all the events of your life, rleasing emotions to help bring that event into your awareness for healing.

1.  Your Past Cannot Hurt You

Your past can’t hurt you; you’ll never be that little girl or little boy again.  However, remember the heart stores all the events from your life, much like the computer discs.   It’s the recording of all those events, along with the faulty beliefs systems you developed back then, that come up in today’s problems.

6/8 The Nine Major Family Groups of Emotions

Counsellors, Therapist and people who have studies emotions can give us a list of Nine Basic ‘Emotional families’.  Most of the studies have gone into recognising the ‘unpleasant’ emotions.  I would suggest there are more ‘families’ of the ‘pleasant’ emotions that are list here.  Could you think of other pleasant emotional families?

1. The Family of Anxiety – This group is marked by apprehension, dread, worry, panic, obsessions and phobias.  Most anxiety is rooted in past psychological damage.  The challenge is to bring the damage to God for healing.  Denial, unbelief and low self worth are the common barriers for this to happen.
