5/19 Summary for the Conscience and Total Wholeness

Posted by on September 23, 2012 at 12:27 aminternational

We began this Blog by presenting a series on the 9 parts of our personality.   We have been calling these 9 parts ‘The Boardroom’ as all these parts meet to discuss and debate, argue and conquer as we make decisions about our world.  Only when all of our ‘parts‘ understand, are submitted to our Creator and learn to work in unity, harmony and peace will be begin to see what Total Wholeness looks like.

So we launched into defining the Conscience.

5/17 Your Conscience’s Measuring Sticks and Total Wholeness

Posted by on September 6, 2012 at 7:39 amsuggest

In our last post, we began the discussion on the importance of surrendering our Conscience to our Creator, rather than blindling floowing the beliefs of our childhood.  Each part of our personality must learn this vital lesson; we weren’t meant to do this life journey alone!

 A.  IT COMES BACK TO THOSE MEASURING STICKS!

Remember our previous discussion about how we judge and measure ourselves; that’s been the job of the Conscience.  Remember though where those measuring sticks have come from?  …… Childhood, the way others saw us and how we took in what they said.

5/16 Learning to Submit your Conscience for better Total Wholeness

Posted by on August 10, 2012 at 1:28 amforum

As we have discussed in our last posts, the Conscience has been programmed throughout our childhood, our teen years and into adulthood to believe certain things.   However, as we have said, some of these things the Conscience believes are NOT TRUE!  Trying to sort through what is true and what are false assumptions, half-truths and outright lies can be a long process…..unless we learn to handle the Conscience the way our Creator design for us.

One of the important tasks our Conscience has to in reaching for Total Wholeness is to learn to surrender.  In this post, we shall see what surrender really means and how to see the self-talk and views that stop that growth.

5/15 Two prayers for the Conscience to grow in Total Wholeness

Posted by on August 17, 2012 at 10:42 amsupport

Here are Two prayers for the Conscience that would be good to say to yourself everyday for the next week.  ….or you can print them out in a fancy font and put them somewhere you can see them often.

Prayer #1.

“Creator of heaven and earth, thank You that You totally understand my total being.  I don’t need to pretend with You.  You see the depths of my hurt and traumas far more than I ever could.  I know You came to help me see my world the way You do.  So help me to hear my Conscience but to remodel the voice of my Conscience to Your voice.  Help my conscience to continue to allow You to do what You need to do as You make me over into Your image.

Guest Post – Christian Foundations on Conviction or Condemnation?

Posted by on August 6, 2012international at 7:49 am

Our Guest Post by Pastor Sharon White:

A.   A FAREWELL DISCUSSION

This week our passage focuses on the Holy Spirit bringing conviction.

It’s part of a “Farewell Discourse” of Jesus’ outlining his departure and its effect on the disciples future. Saying goodbye is never easy. Apart from funerals, airport departure lounges are for me the epitome of places of sad farewells.

There is a classic story of goodbyes in the Bible, John 16:4 onwards. Jesus is sharing with his disciples that His departure is necessary so that they can fully embrace the future. He repeatedly points them to the benefits of his leaving. “…..It is for your good I’m going away.”

5/13 What you Feed controls you on your journey to Total Wholeness

Welcome back!  We continue with our theme for this post by focing on the self-talk issues.  Some people talk about ‘feeding the black dog or the white dog?’ …Others add the Cherokee Indian story and feature the ‘Black Wolf and the White Wolf’.

Which ever example we wish to use, the truths of this well known story actually come from the Bible.  So let’s continue with the Conscience and how to feed the positive, Godly thoughts rather than the condemning, self-hating negative fears and doubts.

5/12 Self Talk, Self hatred and the Conscience in seeking Total Wholeness

Posted by on July 20, 2012suggest at 6:28 am

As we have mentioned in previous posts, your Conscience is there to be a helper if used in the right way.  One aim of Total Wholeness is helping your Conscience reach a peaceful place with your life as a Jesus Follower.  For many people this means dealing with the ‘mind chatter’, the self-talk that constantly flows through their mind.

A. THE CONSTANT MIND CHATTER ROBS YOU OF PEACE

When the majority of this self-talk is negative, self-judgemental or self critical, they are robbed of peace and joy.  For many, this flow of thoughts might be in comparing themselves to others on how they look.

5/11 We will Not face an angry, Judgemental God with Total Wholeness

Posted by on July 5, 2012forum at 8:34 pmtour

So far is our discussion on our Conscience, we have talked about how to instruct and feed our sense of right and wrong from Biblical ways to grow into the Total Wholeness our Creator intended.  We must watch our self-talk, especially the self-hatred or self-sabotage that grows with drive for perfection.

However, deeper than this is the self-condemnation that seems to follow many people.  Those of us who claim to be Jesus Followers must deal with this deadliest of enemies – false condemnation!

5/10 Understand Condemnation versus conviction for Total Wholeness

Posted by on June 15, 2012support at 5:20 pm

We have spent almost 9 posts talking about the Conscience to this point.  We have define, dissected and tried to explain where our Conscience comes from.  We have set out the Bible perception on the Conscience and what we are NOT to follow as we live in this world.

In this post, I wish to present the difference between the Condemnation of our Conscience and the enemy ……. and the Conviction of the Holy Spirit.  Personally, I believe that if more Christians knew the difference and chose to follow Conviction, their life would be so much better!

5/9 As Christians, how do we instruct our conscience toward Total Wholeness?

Posted by on June 27, 2012 at 2:38 pmfeed

So how are you going on understanding what the Conscience is and how it works? There are also many views on where we get our Conscience.  We have chosen to stay with the Biblical view of the Conscience as a gift from the Creator.  If we didn’t have a Conscience, I am sure the human race would have totally destroyed itself by now.

In this post, we need to see our Conscious as valuable but to be guided and taught rather than just followed blindly.  In fact, there are 3 things starting with ‘S’ that we need to pay attention to when we allow our Creator to renew and shape our Conscience.  Remember when we talked about those?  We continue with what our Conscience needs in order to grow to Total Wholeness.

5/8 What does the Bible Teach about Total Wholeness and the Conscience?

So far we have debated the meaning of that part of us we call the Conscience.  We have talked about what the Conscience is NOT and given the three main views as to how we have a Conscience.

We have also seen hw this God-given light can be made to burn brighter or to be dull and burnt out, allowing horrible crimes against other humans.  We discussed how our Conscience is shaped by our family and our culture, therefore it is not a fallible guide to the best path we can choose.
