5/7 How does the Conscience work toward Total Wholeness?

Posted by on June 7, 2012 at 7:01 am

How does the Conscience work toward Total Wholeness? So far, we have discussed how our Conscience can guide us but it is not meant to be the perfect guide.  Remember the Conscious is one of the 7 parts of our personality so we need to understand how it functions to reach that Total Wholeness that is possible in our ‘Boardroom’.

A. YOUR CONSCIENCE ACTS IN THREE WAYS:

1.  First of all, the conscience works negatively.

It is a God-given, built in red light when you are doing something wrong.  The conscience is that negative voice that says “This is wrong!”.

5/6 How your Childhood impacts the Development of the Conscience

In our discussion on the Conscience as the 4th member of our personality, we have looked at where we get our Conscience and can we really trust it as a Guide in this path to Total Wholeness.

To continue this discussion and to further answer these questions, we need to go back and see how our Childhood has shaped the Conscience.

5/5 So can we really Trust our Conscience to guide us?

Posted by on May 28, 2012 at 5:28 am

So far, we have defined the Conscience and given the three main views about where our Conscience has come from.

We have also discovered that the human conscience is the internal governor that helps us determine between right and wrong; it is the part of us that keeps us from doing unspeakable evil.  The Conscience triggers those feelings of guilt and remorse when we step over ‘our’ sense of right and wrong.

However, some people seem to have no conscience. They can do terrible act toward others without hesitation. Their actions are pure evil.  Why is this so?

5/4 So Where do we get our Conscience for Total Wholeness?

Posted by on May 22, 2012 at 6:11 amhome

In our previous posts, we talked about a definition of what we mean by conscience.  Then we discussed what our conscience is NOT.  We saw that it is not our opinions, judgements, discernments, emotional reactions, the real ‘you’ or ‘facts’ we believe with our mind.  In this post, we continue by trying to define what we meant by ‘The Conscience’ and how valuable this gift can be.

A.  THE BIG QUESTION – WHERE DO WE GET OUR CONSCIENCE?

1.  In brief, there are three main views about the source of our Conscience:

a.  Our conscience is given to us by God.

5/3 Understanding what is the Conscience NOT?

Posted by on May 15, 2012 at 2:50 amresearch

In our previous post, we laid out the definition of the Conscience and we were left with the question of how reliable is this guide.  To help us see the heart of the question, we need to separate out what the Conscience is NOT.

A.  SAY HELLO TO THE CONSCIENCE

1.  Conscience is not the belief systems we hold to with our mind.

I might believe that Australian beer is better than the USA versions but this is not my conscience telling me this ‘fact’.  In fact, I may believe many things that I regard as ‘facts’ in my world that are not true at all.

5/2 Welcome to the Conscience and Total Wholeness!

In this post, as we continue with our theme on the 7 parts to your personality, we leave the category of the Human Spirit and venture into the realm of the Human Conscience.  We gave you a brief intro to the conscience when we began this blog.  We now want to expand this very important part of who you are and how we help our Conscience to gain Total Wholeness too.

Recently, we have been working on a series called ‘The Covenants of God’ for the Hearing your Creator’s Voice blog site.

I’ve asked myself why this is so important.  In fact, it was helping to write doing this study as a Correspondence course some years ago that my own faith grew deeper and deeper.

I realised how much our loving Creator was in control of all of human history from the stories of Adam and Eve through to the final, end eternity awaiting us all.

5/1 Total Wholeness & Renewing your Conscience

Posted by on December 17, 2011 at 6:58 am

This is the Fifth overview in our blog on Total Wholeness.    So far we have covered three of the main players in your Boardroom: the logical, rational Mind, the Doer called the Will and the Human Spirit, the real You!

In this post we will look at one of the most controlling and dominates members in the whole of the BR – the Conscience.  So what is it and how does it function?  Unlike a well organised Boardroom of IBN or United Airlines, most people’s BR meetings are in total disagreement ….except to give control to the most dominate member.  The main triangle of domination comes from the Mind, the Heart and the Conscience.  Why this is so and what we can do about it will be covered in this fifth category of the BR.
